Scans every US stock every day for institutions moving in: new highs, volume spikes, uptrend, and a low-VIX market. Stocks that keep hitting day after day graduate to the watchlist and conviction list. Not financial advice — a starting point for your own research.

What it looks for (a hit passes ALL)

VIX < 21: Global market gate — fetched live from Yahoo (^VIX). When VIX is high, no new hits are recorded.
20-day high: Latest close is at or above the highest close of the last 20 days (making highs).
Volume spike: Today's volume ≥ 1.5× the 50-day average volume (institutions moving in).
Above SMA50: Price is above its 50-day simple moving average.
Trend up: SMA50 > SMA(long). Long = 200 days once enough history exists, else the longest window ≥ 120 days; below 120 days the rule is skipped (history only goes back to Dec 2025).
Momentum: Day change ≥ 2% (close vs previous close — proxies "gapping up", since open/high/low aren't in the history).

Score = dayChange% + 2 × volumeRatio. Sorted by score. Employee count from stockanalysis.com — larger companies may be stronger growth candidates. Click a symbol to view it on Seeking Alpha. Click any column header to sort. Thresholds are constants in src/screener.ts.

Premovers — catch tomorrow before it happens

A model trained walk-forward on the full git history ranks every eligible stock by its odds of a ≥ +20% next-day move, restricted to names that have not already exploded today (the "catch it early" pool). Backtest: 38% of all next-day ≥ +20% movers ranked in the model's top 5% the day before (base rate ~0.3%); VEEA ranked top 1.2% the day before its +222%.
